As I look at this card today the words "it is better to have loved and lost, than never have loved at all" come to mind. We have our vampyre, holding our angel statue tight. She weeps, as does the angel.
Looking at the angels neck, I see a cut on the neck which bleeds. It is not a bite, it feels like this angel has sacrificed himself for the one he loves. Immortalised forever as a statue.
We have to let the things we love go, in order to let them move on in their lives. Things change and sometimes we have to brave and take that first step alone.
Roses and ivy are around in this card, the dark pink roses in her hair, the wreath held in the angels hands. Pink roses are about friendship, ivy is about fidelity.
It's about remaining true to who you are, and allowing yourself to let go of others when you need them the most. When you let go they can be free to help you more.
